Also my website is up and running: www.bethmccarleyphoto.com/
One of my stormchasing photos almost made National Geographic's September cover! It had been chosen but was changed before publishing. Things aren't looking too bad for something smaller in the future though, I'll keep y'all posted when/if I get a feature in the magazine.
Also, I've been in southern Africa for a bit, so you can expect MANY wildlife and safari photos to be posted over the next several months. Of course, the editing is a little slow with 8 memory cards and over 100 GBs of photos!
I've heard Lightroom is quite useful, anyone got some good mass organization and editing tips?

Cool, a DD!
I used to really want one of these (been here on and off for 6 years now), but eventually stopped caring, and figured if my photography improved, it would happen anyway :) I also realized they don't mean as much as they first appear, especially since I began following the the teachings of the wise kkart (https://www.deviantart.com/kkart).
Nonetheless... COOL !!! =D
The DD: Tough Guys Wear Pink
Thank you kayaksailor (https://www.deviantart.com/kayaksailor) for the suggestion!
I'm not too active on DA anymore, so you can find much more of my work on Flickr, and prints on RedBubble.

The End is Near
My semester abroad is coming to an end. I'll be heading home pretty soon :(
Overall I think I've explored New Zealand fairly well, and the few weeks in Australia were priceless. The coast was nice, but it was fantastic getting off the "tourist trail" and heading into the outback! My big goal of that trip was wild animal spotting. Saw a wild platypus, emu, rainbow lorikeets, cassowary, koala, wallaby, kangaroo, possum, kookaburra, dolphins, and a dugong. No wombats or dingos :( but I wasn't able to get pictures of most of those animals anyway.
The big upside to going home is that fall is near in that hemisphere. WOOHOOO!!! Time to shoot
Photo Stats
I've taken 29,000 photos since I got my current digital cameras. Thats 558 photos per month, 140 photos per week, 20 photos per day.
I've taken 4,000 since I've arrived in New Zealand, about 570 photos per week and 80 photos a day.
I have been in NZ for 2 months now, and Easter Break is finally here! I had to get 8 GB in more memory cards for the South Island trip I'll be going on over the next few weeks. Wish me good tramping weather and lots of photos!

I hear external hard drives are really good for these kind of things. That light room can find it even if its on some other hard drive. I have no idea how true this is.
